Mutts + Melts was started by Laura, a lifelong dog lover and animal rescue advocate.

After losing both of her rescue dogs to cancer in 2025, Laura wanted to find a meaningful way to give back and support other dogs still waiting for their forever homes. At the same time, she had been creating and gifting personalized candles to friends who had lost their own pets — small, thoughtful ways to honor the bond that remains even after a dog is gone.

Eventually the two ideas came together: beautiful, breed-inspired candles that celebrate the dogs we love, paired with a real commitment to help the ones still in need of rescue.

These candles are perfect for celebrating a new family member, honoring a beloved companion, or simply bringing a little extra warmth into your home.

Our Giving Approach

A portion of every Mutts + Melts sale supports volunteer-based dog rescue organizations.

We prioritize breed-specific rescues that match the candles our customers buy (for example, Beagle candle sales help support Beagle rescues), while also directing support to groups that help mixed-breed and all-breed dogs — because mutts make up a large part of the rescue population.
